Academic Interests

I had a medical degree from University of Jordan School of Medicine. Also, I had extensive post-graduate clinical training and medical/surgical experiences in various clinical departments in different hospitals. I served as a primary care physician and clinician for more than 15 years. Furthermore, I like academic medicine and especially clinical anatomy, where I have special strength in integrating basic and the clinical sciences. So, I got a graduate degree in clinical anatomy from Tulane University School of Medicine, where I gained exceptional experience in combining traditional teaching with more modern pedagogy (like active learning, flipped classroom, peer teaching, small group and case-based/problem-based learning). I served as a faculty member teaching various courses of Gross Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Neuroscience, Foundations of Clinical Medicine. My special academic interests are in working on clinical correlations of basic sciences, horizontal and vertical integration, developing case-based teaching, competency-based curriculum and an organ system-based curriculum.
