Area of Interest

As a movement disorders neurologist, I have over 5 years of outpatient clinical experience, with a focus on Parkinson’s disease (PD), deep brains stimulation programming and botulinum toxin injections, as well as PD clinical trials and inpatient Neurology Attending experience. As a physician informatician, I have been serving as the Epic Specialty Champion since 2021 and as the Director of Neurology Informatics since 2023. As a medical informatics researcher, I have secured two federally funded research grants, including an NIH K23-equivalent award in 2021 and NIH R01-equivalent award in 2023, from the US Department of Defense (DOD). As a medical education researcher, I have developed a novel curriculum in the domain of health system science in with institutional grant funding from the UVMMC Foundation in 2020.

My career objectives in neurology and informatics over the next 5 years are three-fold: 1) be a continually grant-funded researcher in applied informatics of Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders; 2) explore the path of a physician informatician leader in translational and clinical research informatics, alongside developing a clinical informatics portfolio in neurology; 3) continue practicing as a movement disorders neurologist. As for my career objectives in the niche of medical education over next five years, I hope to further develop the health system science curriculum I have developed and develop graduate courses in topics of modelling biomedical systems and research informatics.
