Dr. Tallmadge is a clinical and school psychologist who has worked within in the Vermont Center for Children, Youth and Families since 1989. Over the years he has served as a clinician, teacher, and supervisor within the VCCYF and participated in the implementation of the Vermont Family-Based Approach. Along with his role as a Focused Family Coach, Dr. Tallmadge currently serves as the clinical, outpatient supervisor for First Year Fellows and oversees their outpatient psychotherapy cases. Dr. Tallmadge relies on a cognitive-behavioral orientation to create an integrated treatment model that melds the Vermont Family-Based Approach with evidence-based treatments. In his work outside the VCCYF, Dr. Tallmadge collaborates with primary care providers in assessing the mental health needs for patients in their care. He also conducts psycho-educational evaluations in area schools.
