Research Interests

Dr. Harold Dauerman received his bachelor of science from Yale University in 1986 and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1991. He completed his training in internal medicine, general and interventional cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital from 1991-1998. He served as a faculty member and Director, Interventional Cardiology at University of Massachusetts Medical Center from 1998-2001. Since 2001, Dr. Dauerman has been a faculty member at University of Vermont and an interventional cardiologist at UVM Medical Center. He served as Director, Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratories and Director of Cardiovascular Services at UVM Medical Center from 2001-2017. He is a tenured Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Surgery and currently serves as the Network Director for Interventional Cardiology overseeing the University of Vermont Health Network cardiac catheterization labs and hospitals in Vermont and New York State.

Dr. Dauerman has been involved in quality improvement initiatives, program development and care of high risk patients. This includes development of a region wide STEMI program, a comprehensive structural heart program (including aortic and mitral valve procedures) and advising the national STEMI improvement initiative, Mission Lifeline. Dr. Dauerman has planned the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions as prior Chair, Clinical Cardiology Council programming. Dr. Dauerman has served in multiple editor roles including Editor in Chief of Coronary Artery Disease, Associate Editor for Journal of the American College of Cardiology and Senior Guest Editor for Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Vermont Cardiovascular Research Institute.
